Meet the Family Behind CJM

One of the things we’ve enjoyed most since starting CJM Property Services has been connecting with people throughout the Niagara Region — so we thought it would be nice to properly introduce ourselves and share a little more about the family behind the business.

CJM Property Services is truly a family-run business built by Chris and I after years of talking about creating something of our own together.

We’ve been together for over 13 years after meeting while I was completing my final year of nursing school in St. Catharines. I originally moved here from Kitchener for school… and never ended up leaving.

For over 10 years, I’ve worked as a Registered Nurse, primarily in rehabilitation and healthcare settings. More recently, I’ve also discovered that running a small business apparently means becoming a part-time marketer, bookkeeper, scheduler, website editor, social media manager, and networking coordinator too!

Chris has over 10 years of experience in property maintenance, cleanups, junk removal, and hands-on labor work. His work ethic, practical skills, and ability to tackle physically demanding projects are a huge part of what helped inspire us to finally take the leap and start CJM Property Services together.

And of course, we can’t forget two very important members of the family:

our dogs Rocky and Ripple.

Rocky is our 10-year-old heeler mix who still likes to supervise everything happening around the house and yard.

Ripple is our 6-year-old beagle mix and rescue from Niagara Dog Rescue. She definitely keeps life entertaining and has fully embraced spoiled-dog life ever since joining our family.

When we’re not working, posting on social media, answering emails, or tackling projects, we genuinely enjoy spending time at home together and working on our own house and yard. Building this business has been exciting because it allows us to combine things we already enjoy — hard work, helping people, improving properties, and being part of the local community.

Starting a small business has definitely come with a steep learning curve, but we’re incredibly grateful for all the support, encouragement, referrals, and opportunities we’ve already received so far.
